Smitten with Beauty on a Budget

I recently dropped a RETARDED amount of money ($85) on a Cle de Peau concealer. Don’t judge. Everything I had read about it basically told me it would change my life. In short. . .it did not change my life. I returned it, and went with a Stila concealer that worked beautifully, and, in my opinion, even better than Cle de Peau. The kicker? It cost a mere $22.00 On the other hand, I LOVE my Miracle Skin Transformer Tinted Moisturizer SO much that I happily pay the $45 for it. The lesson to be learned here is that it’s a mix of the splurge worthy (make sure they are actually “worthy”) and the inexpensive but fabulous.

*L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Blush in “Cherubic”

A beautifully light and smooth “whipped” texture gives you the ease of applying cream blush, sans the greasy meltdown. This is absolutely gorgeous when patted on the apples of the cheeks and blended up and out. Perfect glow at a perfect price: $13.00, at drug stores.

* L’Oreal Voluminous Original Volume Building Mascara in “Blackest Black

I’ve mentioned this product in several other posts. It’s my personal favorite, and no matter what else I try I always come back to it, and not only for the price – the formula and the brush can’t be beat! It is perfection. Lush lashes with cash leftover for a latte. Now THAT is really fabulous. $8.50, at drug stores.

*Skin 79 Diamond Crystal Pearl BB Cream

Okay, the name is fairly ridiculous. . . I get visions of Elizabeth Taylor and her crazy blingedoutness . . .but this BB Cream is BANANAS. With it’s light texture and iridescent shimmer I find myself using this for everything. Some of my uses include: as an eyelid neautralizer/primer, as a highlighter, or mixed with concealer for luminous under eye coverage. I LOVE products that multi task, and this one is amazing. Equally amazing? The $16.00 price tag.

* SEPHORA Nano Eyeliner

A petite pencil boasting  major pigment and a wide color selection. My favorite shades include: Midnight Black, Iced Brown  and Plum. Glides on smooth and stays put for $5 a pop. Sephora

* SEPHORA Bronzer in “Los Cobos”

I am absolutely in love with this bronzer. It’s perfectly brown with no hint of orange whatsoever (read: a very, very good thing. Oompah Loompah is so 2011) and had almost no shimmer. It is nearly impossible to find bronzer without glitter in it, so I am just incredibly smitten with this fantastic product. $15.00 Sephora

****Spend WISELY and look CHIC. That’s my motto.

 Have a Beautiful Day!
