Ahhhh mastering the art of what’s worth a splurge and what’s a great SCORE. Take a look at my most recent sampling of Splurges and Scores.
SCORE! Smitten with eyeshadows from NYX. Fork over a measly $4 and you’ve got impressive pigmentation and longwearing color. Even better – one of the shades is an AMAZEBALLS dupe of Stila’s famous yet pricey “Kitten” eyeshadow. If you are craving a brightening neutral, try NYX eyeshadow single in (oddly enough) “My Favorite Color”. Use over the entire lid, or under the brow bone and in the duct to brighten. Ha-cha!
SPLURGE! After receiving a sample of Origins GinZing Eye Cream it was love at first use. OOOOOOOOHHHMG is it good. And brightening. And Smoothing. Used under eye makeup as a skin smoother/hydrator/primer or by itself, this is an illuminating, moisturizing miracle worker. LOVE!!! Rings up at $30 which feels like a splurge but it’s so good and goes such a long way that it feels like a score. Big time. Like . . .this is the Channing Tatum of eye creams kind of score.
SCORE! Dehydrated skin has found it’s bathtime soul mate. Officially my most favoritest and bestestest new thing…C. Booth Dry Oil Body Spray. Smells like a vacation, replenishes my moisture sapped bod, and elevates me to new levels of lusciously hydrated and practically perfect skin happiness. My shower will never ever, ever be without this. Oh! And it’s $5.99. (fist pump)
SCORE! Revlon Lip Butter (a.k.a chapstick for the fashionable). A super duper dupe of Clinique’s Butter Shine. At a third of the price and with more colors to choose from – you simply can’t go wrong. My current color of choice is peach parfait. Silky smooth and not a trace of sticky yucky sadness. Deposits color akin to a gloss but with the satisfation of applying a ladylike lipstick (one of the best parts up being an adult woman, in my opinion). At a mere $6.50 you will have plenty of dough left over for a grown up beverage to celebrate your womanliness. Cheers to that!
SPLURGE! Long have I been hunting for a liquid mineral foundation that doesn’t apply like Nickleodeon slime. (Yes, I am a proud product of a 90’s childhood) Colorescience has deeeeelivered and I am deeeelighted. Colorescience Pro Creme Mineral Foundation is in every way fantastical and I’ll go as far as to say it’s my everything in a base makeup. Coverage, blendability, satin finish, texture…all perfect. This has been a bit of a splurge at $38.00 – but worth every last penny.
Ladies (AND gents) – I’d love to hear what drugstore and luxury brands you are splurging and scoring on! Drop me a line! XO
Have a Beautiful Day!
